Meet Us On The Avenue

Programs

The Avenue of the Americas Association extends invitations to its members and guests to attend and participate in numerous programs each year. Among the current programs and events are:

Board of Directors Luncheons

Leadership of the Association falls to the Board of Directors who meet regularly to identify and address issues affecting the Avenue and its members, and to govern the Association. Director’s luncheons offer the opportunity to discuss the Association and hear from a wide range of interesting guest speakers.

The Annual Luncheon

Held each spring, the annual luncheon is both a social event and an arena for lively, compelling presentations by the city’s most important civic and business leaders. The luncheon is open to Association members and their guests.

The Green Street Award Program

This program recognizes building owners and tenants along the Avenue of the Americas for their efforts in adopting environmentally sustainable programs or improvements to their work place.

The Gold Key Award & the Anniversary Gala

Each fall, the Association hosts its annual dinner gala. At this wonderful event, the Association presents its Gold Key Award honoring an outstanding achievement that has had a positive impact on the City or the Avenue. Previous recipients of this prestigious award include: David Rockefeller, William Paley, Harold McGraw, ABC, NBC and CBS as well as Radio City Music Hall, the American Folk Art Museum and most recently, Paramount Group.

Partnership with Local High Schools

The Association has a successful partnership with two neighborhood high schools: the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School for International Business and the Repertory High School for Theatre Arts. The Association provides financial support for special programs and also is involved with Career Day.

New York City Police Foundation

The Association reaches out to its two local precincts on a regular basis. It also has a close relationship with the NYC Police Foundation. Each year, the Association attends a briefing by the Police Commissioner.

Cultural Connections

The Association works closely with and supports the International Center of Photography. The Association helps promote these neighborhood cultural destinations to its members and also has hosted special events in these wonderful locations.

VIP Tours & Events

The Association invites its members on special VIP tours each year to see new construction close up or have special access to neighborhood institutions.
